Wieder-Atherton is as much at ease when playing contemporary
works (works which display such a wide variety of facets) as
she is with the traditional repertoire. In her interpretation
of my Three Stanzas on the Name Sacher she was capable
of adapting her way of playing to the often complex polyphonic
texture characteristic of many passages of these difficult pieces.
Her touch endowed them with a ramarkable transparency.
As seen by Natalia
Shakhovskaia:
triking
artistic presence, powerful and sensitive. What makes her unique
is the genuineness of each moment of expression. Her playing
captivates by a combination of audacity, purity and mastery.
